 Welcome to the Texas Skies District (TSD) of the Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. The Texas Skies District serves families within the boundaries of the Katy and Royal (Brookshire) Independent School Districts. Nearly 3,000 youth members are enrolled in 33 Cub Scout Packs, 27 Boy Scout Troops, 6 Varsity Teams and 9 Venture Crews. In addition to the nearly 3,000 youth members active in these 75 Scouting units, nearly 1,500 adult volunteers give their time and talent to help these youth become the responsible leaders of tomorrow.
Texas Skies has set up a full monthly set of District meetings to service its units and direct its activities:
- District Commissioner Meeting: First Thursday of each month; 6:30 to 7:30 pm, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1603 Norwalk Drive, Katy, TX 77450

2012 Texas Skies Pinewood Derby has been POSTPONED... please stay tuned for the new event date....
This years' Pinewood Derby will be held on April 21st at Cinco Ranch High School Commons from 11am until 1 pm. (Please note: KISD will not guarantee that CRHS, or any other high school, will be available until about a week from the event - please check back from time to time....)

Cost for the race is $10 per car. Online registration prior to April 13th is reduced to $7 per car. If your Pack is volunteering a track for the derby, you can reduce the entry fee by $2 a car.

Check-in will be held Friday night, April 20th from 6-8pm; and Saturday morning, April 21st from 9-10:45am. All cars need to be checked-in by 10:45am.
Qualification rules: follow the BSA rules that were included in the kit. 5oz max weight, BSA wheels, axels and accessories,... no car kits from local hobby stores.
