Eagle Scout Registration

This is for All Eagle Scouts in the Texas Skies District. This includes adults who have earned their Eagle elsewhere and are serving units in the Texas Skies District.

Greetings Scouters from Texas Skies!!!!!

It is time once again to come to Program Preview. This year we will be going over the upcoming 2010-2011 programs going on in the District as well as Council activities. I cannot stress the importance to have EVERY unit attend this event!

This is where you get your foundation of programs for the upcoming year. We discuss the dates of the events so bring your calendars.

I will be sending out reminders over the next couple of weeks to keep it on everyone's mind and to get it into your busy schedules. If your units have not historically attended Program Preview, or if you have questions contact me.

2010 Texas Skies District Leader Appreciation Dinner

Texas Skies District Leader Appreciation Dinner is quickly approaching. We?re celebrating the difference that committed leaders make for Scouts across the district.  This is an evening for all Adult Scouters (leaders, parents, other volunteers involved with your unit) to come enjoy an evening of fellowship, support, and thanks for a great program year.

DATE: NEW DATE:FRIDAY, MARCH 5TH

LOCATION: Church of the Holy Apostles, 1225 West Grand Parkway

CHECK-IN: Begins at 6:30 PM

DINNER: Begins at 7:00 PM

COST: $17.50/person

District Awards

 While you are on the website, you may want to consider making a nomination for the following awards. Nomination forms will available at www.texasskiesdistrict.org beginning Wednesday, January 21.

Unit Spirit Award. Every unit is eligible to nominate someone who has gone the extra mile in making sure the boys in their unit enjoy the Scouting program. The individual?s Scouting knowledge, contributions, and involvement, as well as their personal qualities should be considered.
UNIT SPIRIT AWARD FORM

 

District Award of Merit. Do you know anyone that has tirelessly put in time and effort at the district level, helping in training leaders, staffing major events, promoting the program for all the boys? Nominees should be individuals who have rendered noteworthy service to the boys, at the unit, district and/or council levels. Any member of the Scouting committee may submit a nomination for this award.

PARTNERS IN SCOUTING AWARD 2009. Our Scouts and Scout units rely on support from our community to provide a successful program. Their contributions of time, manpower, facilities, and funding often are behind the scenes. These people, businesses, organizations and groups provide support and encouragement for our Scouts and Scouters. We would like to recognize these partners who have generously supported our Scouts, Scouters and events in the Texas Skies District. This Partners in Scouting Award will honor the most outstanding Scouting partner for the year 2008. Please nominate these organizations for the Partners in Scouting Award, so that we may recognize their outstanding support. The objectives of this award are as follows: 1. to encourage excellence in Relationships between the community and the Texas Skies District 2. to provide examples of excellence in Relationships from which others may learn, and 3. to create an annual recognition providing visibility for recipients of the award

Chartered Partner Award. This award is presented to the Chartered Partner that has demonstrated excellence in its relationship(s) with the unit(s) it serves. Anyone may submit a nomination for this award.

Family of the Year. Anyone may submit a nomination for this award. Nominees should be scouting families that have contributed service to the boys and been involved in unit, district and/or council levels.
