2009 Join School Night - formerly School Night for Scouting
It is now time to start thinking about Summer Recruiting and the upcoming Fall Recruitment Campaign.
Hopefully, your pack has already planned a Summer recruitment effort, such as a picnic, party, ice-cream social, etc... New recruits can come out with their parents to learn about your pack. Many packs have done this in the past and have been very successful. This is also great to do with boys that are entering 1st grade and are really excited to get started in Cub Scouts!
Mark your calendars for the Fall Recruitment Kick-off Dates. There are 2 available dates for your unit to attend, and you only have to attend one of the dates. This is the training where you will receive all of the useful tools and materials on how to do your Fall recruitment.
Saturday August 15th 9am - noon at Derek Huff Scout House (St Peters)
Or
Saturday August 22nd 9am till noon at Derek Huff Scout House.
Attached are sample sheets that you may use in your efforts.
Thanks,
Michelle Phillips

It's hard to believe, but it has arrived. Let's do everything
we can
to reach the maximum number of families we can in our community!
I
know you are all working very hard, and we are so excited to
have
our 1st ever School Night to Join Scouting effort in Texas
Skies!
A few reminders for your rally:
1) Signs - Yard signs should be out! Don't forget on your rally
day
to put them out at the school in time for drop-off and pick-up
line
to remind the parents that "tonight is the night"...
2) Flyers - Make sure you have distributed flyers and second
notices
(the invitations) appropriately, as they are the primary forms
of
communication. If you need more, please let me know!
3) Boy-talks (if allowed)- Keep them exciting! Keep them fun!
Get
the boys pumped up to join Scouting!
4) Rally night - remember to watch the clock - a long rally can
result in bored / less interested parents. GET THOSE
APPLICATIONS
FINISHED! Don't let them walk out the door!
5) Double Dave’s free kids meals-these are for those who have turned in a youth
application ONLY. Please make sure we stick to this, we have gotapplication ONLY.
Please make sure we stick to this, we have got to
have REGISTERED youth in our programs!
6) Turn-in : TBD
If you have any questions or concerns before Thursday, email me
at

Thanks for all you are doing to grow our program and let's have
a
GREAT rally night that makes Texas Skies a QUALITY DISTRICT!
